What’s On My Mind Wednesday – Ruby On The Road!

Ruby
Oh Lord Look She!!!

Ohh lawwddddd!!!!! I pick up ruby yesterday, check she out nah!!!

I guess I should back back to the beginning eh. Well for the past few months my Scooby van, aka the Green Hornet, has been giving subtle (not) hints that she was tired. Like many of us trying to avoid car payments, I was in denial. I sank money into her hoping that I would get through the year with her but one lovely morning while driving to work, the day after I pay a set a blasted money to fix she, with a whirring of the engine, my speedometer went from 100kmh to 80kmh.  My RPM jumped from 2000 to 4000. That was all she wrote,  could not ignore that sign.
So began my dilemma of choosing between a new and used car! Without getting into too many details cause allyuh know I like to keep things short. I went the new route. Part ah that was people harping in my ears and a big part ah that of course was Tulip. She insisted that I get the new, she keep telling me that I work hard and I take care of everybody else and I should do this for me and all that cangcatang! Lord she could talk! Yuh notice she never offer to pay nothing eh, jus sayin!

So yes, Leon my sales guy, give me the keys to Ruby I start she up and she purred. She actually purred… there was no vroooommm and car shake like the Green Hornet. I wasn’t even sure it the damn ting was on. And the buttons!!! When I go learn all dem things. It have buttons one the steering wheel but I still reach for the console. It telling me when it have to go in fuh service. Since we have such lovely roads in Quebec, when i went over the bumps, there was no shake rattle and role. Who knew the difference a good suspension would make.

One of my favorite movies is Christine based on the Stephen King book. I was going to call my baby Christine 2.0 but Tulip tell me NO. See how she boleface, is not even she car and she still putting she mouth in and telling me what not to name it. She think Christine was possessed by ah evil spirit. I think that Christine was just protective. I mean she took care of her owners did she not. She may have had to suffocate, run over, burn and squeeze her way between two concrete pillars to crush someone. But she did it for love and you have to admit dem idiots deserve it.

My 17 year old twins just had their prom and my daughter tell me how she didn’t want me to drop she to prom in the Hornet. Now my son fine with it because at least he getting there, see why he’s my favorite son? I take my daughter her for a ride in Ruby and she in hogs heaven and tell me too had I didn’t get it before the prom. Then I could drop she off in style. Now picture a suburban kid bopping she head to gangsta rap in the passenger side as we cruise along the lake shore. Life tough boy!

So yes I will still worry about the car payment. BUT!!! I will worry with an awesome car, a warm ass (it have seat warmers, ooooooooo!!!!!) , a purring engine, blinking lights when I unlock the door, that too cool.

Did i mention the blinking lights when you click the remote? It have a backup camera, that thing looks like something outta the original Star Trek TV show. It show which door open, with the Hornet, we had to go around and check each one to see which one was not closed properly. Oh gosh, now I have to tell the Hornet that she not coming back, but I think she suspects something cause she hasn’t been home for a while. Wish me luck.

First artist played in Ruby, Sam Cooke. Fuh allyuh people who doh know music!!!! Look him up. Why, you ask because my mommy loved Sam Cooke. I can’t send her a picture of Ruby but we could listen to some Sam while we cruise into the sunset . Me, my mommy’s spirit and Sam Cooke.

Tulip not dey eh, allyuh know how she pushy. Jus Sayin!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

  1. Ruby look nice, Tulip is right, take care of yourself, I never see a armored van behind a hurse. You can’t take it with you

    • Well my dear De moil. it was not that simple. There was a lot of thought that when into the name choice. I Looked at the angle of reflection and refraction of light on the paint. Checked out the temperature and it’s effect on the color. The prolonged exposure to the sun etc, etc, etc… Then named her based on her color 🙂
