Put on a Christmas Carol and watch dem start to sing and sway deh head. Oh lord, yes them!!!
Not to mention dey have to watch “It’s a wonderful life”, “The sound of music” . “Scrooge” and we cyah forget the new classic “Elf” “SANTA I KNOW HIM!!!!” Cracks me up every single time, oh gosh and the scene when he puts de star on de tree. Oh lord! meh belly!! Oh sorry back on task!

We doh have no thanksgiving so is right into Christmas. an I find out they do the same ting in the Philippines to eh, yes! so doh judge we!
For years I listened to people bitching about how November too early to talk about Christmas! Bah humbug! It have one exception to dat, wait untill after Veterans Day, give the Veterans that respect!

Oh, the Black cake, not that nasty ass lumpy fruit cake crap allyuh does make in this country. I still remember the first time ah try dat, oh the trauma… ponche a cream, not that icky eggnog stuff allyuh does drink, the sorrel, the pastels, sweet juicy red apples, nice parang music playing, people going door to door paranging, allyuh like to call it Caroling! Look it up people… educate allyuhself about Christmas outside ah allyuh country.

Notice all the good memories not tied up in presents eh! Of course as children yud does look forward tuh de gifts but yuh used tuh get what people could afford and yuh used to appreciate it. I not like Tulip, she jus plain ungrateful when she ready but doh get meh wrong she have potential.
People getting stress over de monetary aspect ah the holidays. Christmas is about money if yuh make it about money. If yuh doh have de money doh spend it.
Give what yuh could give from de heart. If the person doh like it…tuh hell with dem. Oh sorry not very festive or enlightened, ah mean say “May god bless you so that somebody else could give you the thing that you want” den yuh could add mentally “yuh flipping ungrateful wretch”. They say Christmas is a sad time for some people but you know what, chose any day in the year and you will find someone that is sad about that particular day. So, if you know someone who’s alone for the holidays, invite them over to dinner. If you’re alone for the holidays why not plan a little something and invite others that you know may be alone for the holidays. Go out and help the needy, donate your time. There no reason to be alone on the holidays! Unless of course Tulip invite yuh over, yuh better go early otherwise yuh not getting no appetizers! One day she go make meh chicken puffs! One day!
