Dear Vnilla Joy
Last month my son decided he wanted to go back to school. I would love to be in the position where I can help him financially. After 10 deadbeat daddies and 7 husbands (long story), I am now a single mother of 7 kids and I am not able to.
I pride myself on being a hard worker but like I said I am not able to foot the bill for his college. He has to go the way most of us have and get a student loan. Even though he is a technically an adult, since he still lives at home, the amount he qualifies for is based on my income. Apparently this @^&^&% government things that I have money coming out of my a$$. They take almost half your salary in taxes and then have the nerve to use your income before they remove their half of your salary. Needless to say after they do that guess what? Suddenly your children don’t qualify for the loan because, guess what, you are richer that you thought. Then you have to pimp you’re a$$ to get this extra money.
Madame Joy, money is already tight and I would feel horrible to know that I am not able to help my child at this point. Should I take on this extra unplanned burden?
Financially screwed
Dear Financially screwed
Thank You!
Now I am not a financial advisor but I must say it definitely sounds like you’re screwed. Girl, you need Suzie Orman!
Help him and it’s an extra burden, don’t help him and you’ll probably have his ass on your couch playing video games from now ‘till eternity.
So what to do …
I would like to paraphrase an upstanding gentleman “Leo Getz” from the movie Lethal Weapon. Now Leo was talking about a drive-thru at the time but it think we can use it here. Since this is a family publication we will clean it up a bit: “They SCREW YOU at the Government, okay? They SCREW YOU at the Government! So who gets screwed?” That’s right my dear YOU DO!!!
No need to pimp what is obviously a lovely a$$, judging by the number of kids it got you. Stop making excuses for your grown ass children. You can’t be “technically an adult”. You either are or you are not… Kick his ass out, then your income will not be an issue. He gets his loan, he continues his education bada bing, bada bang… problem solved!!! You’ll no longer need to worry about what the Government thinks is coming out of you’re a$$.
Follow these simple steps and you to will attain happiness and clarity.
Thank you for selecting us as your emotional crisis advisor. We are here for you!
Madame Joy
p.s. Unplanned burden? Really unless you intended to rear these children in a trailer park and keep them ignorant, how could you not expect to be shelling out money! As for your long story, you definitely need to keep that to yourself.
Aint nobody got time for dat!

The road to happiness can be full of obstacles. If you don’t feel like fighting thru them, just grab somebody that already had been through these obstacles and take theirs. Don’t worry… they already navigated those obstacles they’ll get back to happy quicker than you know.
That’s Zen baby!
